What is the Cladding Safety Scheme?
The Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS) is a government initiative designed to fund the remediation of unsafe cladding on buildings where a responsible developer cannot be identified, traced, or held accountable.
The CSS specifically targets buildings between 11m and 18m in height.

FAQs
-
Applications are made online and vary depending on the scheme that is being applied for. Applicants will need to make an eligibility application prior to proceeding to the official application. Applicants will need to ensure they have basic building details, fire risk assessment of an external wall report (FRAEW) and height verification report.
-
Eligible buildings must have at least one unit held on a long-term residential lease, must be either over 18m or between 11-18m (depending on the scheme you intend on applying for) as well as hold the relevant report confirming that the building wall system requires remediation.
-
The Cladding Safety Scheme is administered by Homes England on behalf of Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

We recommend carrying out a height verification report. Alternatively, if the building is 6 storeys or above, the building may be deemed eligible on that basis.
